Dr Neelan Das is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
He specialises in minimally invasive image guided procedures in both the veins and the arteries of the body. These procedures include venous interventions such as varicocele embolisation, pelvic vein embolisation, deep venous stenting as well as uterine artery and prostate artery embolisation for patients with conditions related to those organs. The other part of his practice involves treating patients with aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial and renovascular diseases using the latest endovascular techniques.
Having been a Consultant for over a decade, he prides himself on being at cutting edge of his specialty having introduced multiple new services involving the latest techniques to provide the optimal care for his patients. He has been and is the local Principal investigator for multiple multi-centre national and international interventional device research trials and has been commended for his recruitment and contribution to these. Neelan is also the lead for artificial intelligence in imaging at East Kent and is currently leading the implementation of one the first real world uses of imaging AI in the NHS.
Neelan has travelled widely and volunteered on anti-wildlife poaching patrols in Africa. He is a keen wildlife photographer and hopes that his two young children will be able to enjoy the natural wonders the world has to offer.
