Varicose veins are a common problem, affecting up to 1 in 3 adults in their lifetime. They are usually a sign of an underlying venous insufficiency.
Thread veins can appear anywhere on the body but are mostly evidenced on the legs and face. They are more common than varicose veins, affecting up to 80% of adults.
Leg ulcers appear as broken skin in the lower leg or feet. We have been successfully treating venous leg ulcers for over 20 years.

We are excited to announce that Veincentre Edinburgh is now open!
We are very happy to be expanding our services further across Scotland to make varicose vein treatment and thread vein treatment more widely accessible to those who cannot reach our Glasgow clinic.
Our clinic is located at 41 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, EH2 4HQ, which is in a central location, not too far from Edinburgh Castle. Edinburgh Waverley Station is 1 mile away (8 minute walk/16 minute drive).
The clinic is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the clinical team is led by Dr Navin Mathias, Consultant Interventional Radiologist, who also works at Veincentre Glasgow. Dr Mathias is supported by a nurse and receptionist, and the team are ready to welcome you!
Our treatments include Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), foam sclerotherapy and microsclerotherapy, and are the gold standard treatments recommended by NICE.
