COVID update December 2021

In light of the Omicron variant, for the safety of staff and patients, we have tightened our Covid protocols. We believe our plan will cause the least amount of disruption, but the steps will help reduce the risk of infection to both staff and patients whilst on our premises.

Please note the following:

Patient:

• You must take a lateral flow test (LFT) within 24 hours of their appointment and only attend if negative.
• You must not attend the clinic if you have been advised to self-isolate.
• Social distancing is to be observed in the clinic. Please do not attend the clinic more than 10 minutes prior to your appointment. You may be asked to wait outside the clinic until is it safe to enter (e.g. social distancing can be maintained in the reception).
• You are to attend the clinic alone, no companions are allowed with you. If a companion is required, i.e. for your safety, this must be pre-authorised and a valid reason noted e.g. for translation purposes.
• A surgical type 2R face mask is to be worn at all times whilst in the clinic. If you are exempt from wearing a mask, please inform us prior to attending.
• Your forehead temperature will be checked on arrival. If your temperature is high, or you show any other symptoms of Covid-19 we will need to reschedule your appointment.
• You will be asked a series of questions to determine if you are exhibiting Covid symptoms or should be self-isolating.
• You are unable to undergo treatment if you have had a positive Covid diagnosis less than 7 weeks prior to your appointment.

Clinical staff:

• Social distancing measures will still be enforced in the clinic where possible.
• Staff will wear PPE including face masks & their temperature will be measured.
• Additional cleaning procedures are in place.
