Thread veins can appear anywhere on the body but are mostly evidenced on the legs and face. They are more common than varicose veins, affecting up to 80% of adults.
Leg ulcers appear as broken skin in the lower leg or feet. We have been successfully treating venous leg ulcers for over 20 years.

Mark starts a new job with healthy veins and happy legs.
Mark, from Newcastle, has suffered with varicose veins for longer than he can remember and after three procedures of stripping, turned to us at Veincentre to help get rid of them once and for all.
Mark had endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) on both legs and sclerotherapy with Dr Mark Regi at our Newcastle clinic, and said: “from start to finish I didn’t feel a thing. The team were fantastic and throughout the procedure I felt completely safe and at ease. The most uncomfortable part for me was the anaesthetic injection but after that I didn’t feel anything at all.”
Mark has just taken a career change from the retail industry to the Airlines, so it seemed the perfect time to take the plunge and get his legs treated before he started. Mark recalls how he would never wear shorts and his legs were uncomfortable with a burning and nipping sensation every evening.
Mark said: “I feel so much more confident now that my varicose veins have gone and I can’t thank Veincentre enough for their fantastic help. I was always self-conscious about them and I love going to the gym which made it difficult. I can now wear shorts without any worry and I’m looking forward to starting my new job without any niggling aches and pains in my legs.”
Dr Mark Regi, Mark’s treating consultant at the Newcastle clinic said: “Mark was a fantastic patient and we’re delighted that he’s so happy with the result. We wish him all the best in his new role.”
